The Health Benefits – Look Good and Feel Better!

We all know that hydration is critical to good health.
Being well hydrated actually helps you look good and feel better!

Vulnerable groups, particularly the very young and the elderly often suffer most from the effects of dehydration. In the elderly there is a real danger that some of the effects of dehydration, such as lethargy, joint pain and disorientation, could just be put down to ‘old age’. In the very young, irritability, eating disorders, poor concentration can all be exacerbated by being dehydrated.

We believe that the provision of good drinking water, readily accessible and where the drinking of which is actively encouraged, is one of most important contributions we can make to the health and wellbeing of our most vulnerable.

The range of coolers we provide to schools, hospitals and care homes are all supplied with careful consideration. We will add additional levels of filtration and sterilisation where appropriate, and give our best advice with regard to specifications, installation, maintenance and hygiene.

How much water should you drink?
A lot of research has been done to try to answer this question. The average person will lose about 2.5 litres of water everyday but we get 1 litre of the fluid we need from food. Therefore an average person would need to replace about 1.2 litres every day (hence the 8 x 150ml glasses of water per day).

But, most of us are not ‘average’, and our levels of activity can vary considerably, along with other factors that influence water need. The key is to drink little and often, interspersed with a good few ‘gulps’ from time to time, particularly if exercising.

If you are one of those individuals who find water ‘boring’, consider this – your body will actually adapt so that the thirst response becomes more sensitive and your enjoyment of drinking water will increase.
